Yoga Practice: Body, Breath, Mind
Yoga is a transformation at all dimensions of the human being, and the yoga postures are the vehicles for this journey rather than ends in themselves. The core qualities of each Yoga Asana: One of the ways the yoga poses integrate the 5 Koshas ( The physical sheath, the energetic sheath, the psycho-emotional sheath, the wisdom and the bliss sheath) is through awakwning specific core qualities. These qualities are asana’s deeper meaning, allowing us to experience the essence of each posture. These core qualities are called bhava in Sanskrit.
Specific yoga poses benefit different systems of the body, bridging physical health with emotional and spiritual well-being.
atha yoga is slow, mindful practice that balances body and breath. Postures are usually held longer, with attention to alignment, breathing and inner awareness. It’s practically a therapeutic practice . In my practice there are more twists involved for the balancing of the nervous system.
Comfortable clothing, Yoga mat and water. You also can use Yoga blocks for support, balance and alignment. Some people use blankets for padding under knees and seated restorative moments.
Hatha yoga is specially good for you if you prefer a slower pace with time to understand each pose. Want to improve flexibility, balance, and posture safety, and managing stress, tension or anxiety. Since the poses are held longer, its excellent for joint health and body awareness, and calms the nervous system.
